SSO MOLLE Base

The SSO MOLLE base is another excellent product, from the Russian Sposn company.
This vest is a widely used gear among Russian special forces.

It can be seen mostly in black, on FSB and MVD soldiers, but there are some examples for OD color in use, of course in different OD shades according to production period.

In this review I got the newest coloration version.

In the front there is a rough zipper and 3 plastic buckles to fix the vest in the right position.

At the back there are three straps to adjust size and one under the shoulders to help balance the carried weight.

The used materials are strong and tough, the seems are well made.

In the inside we got all mesh surface, which helps air ventillation

At the shoulders there are pads built in for increased comfort

The shoulder is adjustable with Velcro and a strap, that holds the size secured.

At the top of the back we can find a carrying strap

In the inner side of the front panels, there are secret pockets on both sides, secured with zipper.

Inside these pockets there are waterproof pouches with a security line fixed to the vest.

At the bottom of the whole MOLLE base we find loops for the pistol belt.

This is the latest coloration, 2014 edition.

My overall impression: this is another great product from SSO, truly built to last, it satisfies the needs of real soldiers or operators, so for airsoft play it is more than good! :)

It is available in black, OD, and SSO Spectre

AS VAL from LCT

The LCT AS VAL has arrived.

The first impression was exciting. Although it has some similar ergonomics as an AK, it is a different feel to hold. The main difference is in the weight balance. The Val due to its massive suppressor has more weight in the front, and the massive 40 mm "outer barrel" is nothing like it.

After the first look I took a closer view. The gun is really fully made of blued steel. It is rough, strong, and well made quality. The polymer parts are fine, but their color is not as "plum" as it supposed to be, it is simply brown. The magazines are made from the same material so they got the same tone.

The batteries got place in the suppressor, you can choose from several slim type li-pos.
I was afraid that the battery will hit to the inner barrel during movement, causing inaccuracy, but LCT made a clever solution for this. Close to the end of the suppressor, there is a spacer ring welded inside, which holds the inner barrel straight.

Inside we got the new 9mm gearbox which is a well made piece, and I think it will serve for a long time without problem. Maybe a routine check on spacers and grease will be done. The VAL has a normal AK hop up chamber with all the advantage of this type. The gun has a really good accuracy and range from the box. I have mine from gunfire.pl it shoots about 410 FPS (measured with xortech chrono). In other webshops I saw different value for this.

One of the very few annoying things is that we can not adjust the hop up without taking the topcover off. As some of you may remember on the first photos made from the prototype the cut out of the top cover at the bolt was higher. In that case it was no problem to adjust the hop up, but after it was made lower you can not reach it. The other problem is with the fire selector, when you switch it from full auto to single fire, sometimes the little plate that responsible for switching, stucks in the full auto position, however the fireselector button was moved to single.

Conclusion:

This is a well made, full steel, unique gun from LCT, with good accuracy and range. There are some minor mistakes but nothing serious. Finally airsofters can have this gun in their collection.

The SRVV SAS Harness - kind of SMERSH

I had the opportunity to get a closer look on to a Survival Corps SAS harness.

The first impression was kind of disappointing.

And the second was not much better either.

Overall it is a load bearing system similar to the Smersh, but it is less modular.

It has the same function parts, but they have only one loop to fix to the tactical belt. The belt itself is just a plane nylon fiber belt with a plastic buckle, no big deal.

The coloration of the woodland camo is excellent, it looks like the western type gears, not like the cheep Chinese copies. The producer on its website says it is made of Cordura. If this is so, than it is the thiner type of Corudra maybe 600D...

All the buckles and loops are made of plastic. There where no long lasting test on this item, so I can not say how durable they are.
The sewing of all parts was done with some light gray or light OD thread, which makes the whole thing look cheap.

About the parts: it has a PLCE stile harness, attached to a belt, on the belt there is 2x2 magazine pouches, which can hold eight AK mags, on the side of the pouch there are smaller grenade pouches, closes with Velcro. There is a buttpack with a built in nylon dustcover. The volume is about 8 liters. There is a radio pouch on the shoulder strap, and two canteen or multipurpose pouch on the sides.

My opinion is that maybe this is not there best quality product, maybe there are more preferred items in their production line. So this one is maybe not worth its price. However it is still an SRVV item, which means it looks good in your collection.
